AWESOME use of the Vimeo player in the header of this page.
Thanks! As Ronen mentions, this came our way via Tumblr Projects, and all of the modifications to Jacob’s Redux theme were done by Mike Harding. It’s a great way to get a custom look without having to start from scratch with a new theme.
Ingenious. The trailer looks pretty good too, and I’m a total sucker for ‘behind-the-scene’ production blogs.
Up fan art by Yannick De Smet
I recently re-watched Up and it was even better than I remembered. I almost teared up when Carl was flipping though Ellie’s My Adventure Book and expecting the pages after ‘Things I’m Going to Do’ to be blank but was actually filled with photos of the two of them enjoying their wonderful and amazing life together.
There really isn’t a valid reason why Up shouldn’t be nominated for Best Picture.

Thom Yorke – Hearing Damage
Laugh all you want, but the New Moon soundtrack is truly awesome. I have been playing it basically nonstop since the 11th. It sounds like the soundtrack to a hipster’s wet dream.
I really hate when they use scenes in movie trailers that they don't use in the actual movie
taylornikole:
especially when i wait the whole movie to see that one scene.
I would be disappointed from the lack of surprise since it’s already anticipated and expected. It would be like hearing about several parts of a book from your friend before reading it yourself; wouldn’t that ruin the intended pace and flow of the story?
But I guess this wouldn’t be a problem if the trailers are expertly cut, though unfortunately very few are.

CubeDudes
Pixar animator Angus MacLane is a genius with LEGO bricks. I’ve linked to his incredibly adorable LEGO interpretations of WALL-E before, but his new set of CubeDude minifigs just blows my mind. With just a handful of pieces he is able to recreate the likeness of just about every imaginable film, television, and comic book character.
They are all so equally amazing I literally cannot pick one—or even several—to highlight, as I’d originally planned on doing. Just be careful if you’re pressed for time; I’ve browsed through only one set so far (MacLane has his CubeDudes helpfully sorted into twelve Flickr sets) and that, alone, took me almost half an hour to peruse and marvel over every little, ingenious detail.
Time to dig out my dusty old LEGO bins from the attic; I’m back in love with these little plastic bricks all over again.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
This is awesome. I’m such a sucker for simple, geometric redesigns of book covers and movie posters—which thankfully, seem to be popular lately.
Kymera Magic Wand – gesture-based universal TV remote
This is awesome. Imagine watching all the Harry Potter films on Blu-ray and control it with this wand. According to the beautifully designed manual, it recognizes 13 different gestures to control your television. I would totally be the guy whispering Harry Potter spells while performing ‘magic’ in front of the TV.
Avada Kedavra! *TV turns off*. Magic!
