Explains the pricing phenomenon where consumers consider personal value based on immediately available comparisons, like how a $30 entrée sounds a lot better after seeing a couple of $45 ones, even if there are $19 entrées at the bottom of the menu. The upcoming $199 3G iPhone also sounds like a relative bargain after last year’s $399 iPhone, which was already a relative bargain compared to its introductory $599 price. Fascinating.

Sounds like an exciting time for the computing field.“Anandtech had access to a 2.66GHz Nehalem processor which they pitted against a 2.66GHz Penryn processor. Performance improvements ranged from 20-50% faster for the Nehalem chip.”
