Apple will price-match any item in its stores →
With the upcoming Black Friday sales, Best Buy and other large retailers carrying Apple products will offer steeper discounts than the traditional $5 retailers usually offer under Apple’s retail prices. And now that Apple is confirmed to price-match any published retail prices, they just made it easier for everyone to get in on some Apple love this holiday season.

Facebook “Live Feed” →
Just when I thought Facebook couldn’t get any more stalker-ish, I discover the “Live Feed” tab on my home page.

I may not be the biggest Killers fan, but Brandon Flowers looks sharp in those tuxedos.
These pictures instantly bring back waves of repressed panic and nausea that can only be caused by my horribly ill-fitting tuxedo at my high school prom. The jacket—rented, of course, from Men’s Wearhouse—had the awful boxy cut that was still prevalent in 2006, which was much to my great dismay as I had...

808s & Heartbreak
I finally finished listening to Kanye West’s latest album 808s & Heartbreak, due to drop November 24, 2008. Initially, I was highly skeptical of Kanye’s ability to craft a decent album around just Auto-Tune and TR-808 drums, but the deep thumping drums and sparse lyrics worked surprisingly well together. The drum synthesizer helps create a cohesive sound and ‘feel’ for the album, and Kanye’s...

Apostrophe Atropy →
Amazing tumblelog (I really hate this word, but there doesn’t seem to be a suitable synonym) about incorrectly used apostrophes. And I don’t mean misplaced ones—although the blog also has a couple of those—I mean 'stupid apostrophes' vs. ‘smart ones’, and if you can’t tell the difference, I don’t want to know you.

Very articulate and reasonable defense, I must add. Still not falling for it, though.

Update on SMS delivery problems
twitterstatus:
We uncovered and fixed a major problem with the SMS service that resulted in a large number of messages being dropped. This problem affected users from all carriers.
There may still be problems that remain. We know there’s additional things that we need to do to make the system more reliable. However, fixing this problems should result in a significant improvement in message...

How can Tumblr not have drafts? So frustrating.
You’re more patient than me; I whined about this a month ago.

I posted Pixar's BURN-E but copyright tightasses...
New short film included with the DVD/Blu-ray release of WALL-E, titled BURN-E after the hapless repair bot accidentally locked out of the AXIOM by EVE and WALL-E. Cute, funny, and I love the animation. Can’t wait to watch WALL-E again in HD. [via]
[UPDATED: Nov. 19] Copyright assholes strikes again. Just buy the WALL-E DVD or Blu-ray and you’ll see the clip there. Trust me—it’s...

Just… wow. Justin Timberlake is actually a really funny dude.
[UPDATED: Nov. 19] Copyright dickwads are removing clips left and right, but I found another one for posterity. Bonus: Paul Rudd talking with Beyoncé.

‘Dark Knight’ score disqualified from Academy... →
Anyone who knows anything about movies knows that the Oscars are hardly a relevant metric of cinematic greatness, but this year, they’re really screwing it up. I watched The Dark Knight twice, and although it’s not the godly movie everyone claims, it’s a very decent film with a superb soundtrack.
Locking out Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard’s work purely on technical...

12-Year-Old’s a Food Critic, and the Chef Loves It →
My cynical side thinks Salumeria Rosi is just desperate for business in these desperate times, and a 12-year-old “food critic” featured in the New York Times is just the right cure.

Spam decreased 66% after single bust →
The amount of spam apparently dropped 66% after two Internet providers disconnect a California hosting firm, but a quick (and admittedly highly unscientific) look at my Gmail’s spam folder reveals little change. Wake me up when real impact on spam is accomplished.
